NIH supplement to cover increase in postdoctoral stipends

pay-raise

An email sent yesterday, November 9, 2016, to different deans across Rutgers University announced that the NIH will provide supplemental funding to cover the salary increase for postdocs supported by institutional training grants and individual fellowships. The announcement will be sent out via email to the rest of faculty members and administrators, as well. You are encouraged to ask your Principal Investigator or advisor about his/her awareness of the NIH supplement and share the link with those in your department who might not have received this notification.

The Division of Grants Policy, at the Office of Policy for Extramural Research Administration within NIH, confirmed by phone conversation that the NIH supplement will apply to any NIH grant in the F series and T series. However, for any other NIH grants Principal Investigators should contact their assigned  NIH Chief Grants Management Officers and ask if this supplement can apply to their grants as well.
