Following a Freedom of Information request for all postdoctoral salaries, the Future of Research, an organization dedicated to helping junior scientists articulate and address structural problems in the research world, released a blog post today summarizing the postdoctoral salary discrepancies across Rutgers University.
The authors received salary data for 542 Postdoctoral Associates/Fellows and found the average postdoctoral salary to be $47,621. The lowest annual full-time postdoctoral salary is $19,992, while the highest is $85,000 for Associates and $51,120 for Fellows. In light of this data, the authors suggest that “it is less favorable to be on a fellowship than being treated as an employee at Rutgers.”

Again, we encourage all postdoctoral researchers (both Associates and Fellows) to sign the petition to raise postdoc salaries.
